Aston Martin manufacturer unveiled the convertible version of the Vantage called Roadster.

The new convertible from the British sports car manufacturer is powered by the same engine as the coupe version: a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, which produces 510 horsepower and a torque of 685 Newton-meters. Power is sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission.

Vantage Roadster is a fast convertible: 0-96 km / h happens in 3.7 seconds. The maximum speed declared by the manufacturer is 306 km / h.

Vantage Roadster's Z-folding mechanism is impressive for the agility with which it can be opened and closed: it needs only 6.7 seconds to hide its textile roof, and 6.8 seconds to cover it again - any operation can be performed at speeds up to 50 km / h. At this point, it is the fastest convertible on the market right now.

Aston Martin Vantage Roadster deliveries will start in the second quarter of 2020 with a price from 157,300 euros.

"Open Aston Martins are always very popular with our customers, so the launch of the Vantage Roadster is an exciting event," says Dr. Andy Palmer, President and CEO of Aston Martin Lagonda. "Driving with the top down is the real sports car experience for many because it appeals to all the senses. Driving Vantage has always been a special thrill, but the adrenaline rush reaches a new level in the Roadster."

Matt Becker, chief engineer at Aston Martin, adds: "Compared to the corresponding coupes, sports convertibles are often perceived as a compromise. But the Vantage Roadster remains true to its mission in every respect, combining precise and agile handling with fantastic, straightforward driving performance. And of course, there is also the special attraction of driving in a great-sounding sports car with an open roof."
