Inflatable safety belts

Ford announced a new system of passenger safety: inflatable seat belt, a system considered by experts as important as the invention of pretensioner seat belt.

The technology combines the benefits of safety belts and of an air bag and its efficiency is maxim in a frontal impact with children passengers. Innovation will be introduced with the launch of the new Ford Explorer next year.

In case of accident, inflatable safety belts expend in just 40 milliseconds. 90% of those that tested this safety belt have said that are equally or even more comfortable than a traditional safety belt.

Volvo is first Car Company to introduce seatbelts over 50 years ago and the first company that fitting all the cars with airbags in the driver's and passenger's right since 1995.
