Nissan recently unveiled an intelligent robot named Eporo that could invigorate future safety systems found on Japanese cars.
Nissan plans to overcome Volvo car safety features and fame and will introduce the new technology borrowed from the robots on there futures cars.
The first step was made at CEATEC event in Tokyo, where they exhibited a robot equipped with this future safety technology that will be found on future Nissan car concepts and the production models.
Named Eporo, Japanese robot measures only 50 cm tall and weighs 13 kilograms, being able to walk independently, with identical robots without collide with them. Thanks to a laser light, which constantly measures the distance between them, and a radio system witch calculates the possibility of a imminent collision, Eporo change the parameters to avoid an accident.
The new robot is the first step in developing a program that aims to end with a car able to reduce the number of accidents. If the project will become alive, in a few years we will see cars that communicate with each other for more details on traffic conditions, consumption and speed.
