Lamborghini made a radical change on its latest Gallardo supercar, it has replaced the all-wheel drive with rear-drive - in honour of its well-known test driver, Valentino Balboni. Lamborghini LP550-2 Valentino Balboni is now the only rear-drive Lamborghini in production.
Springs, dampers, stabilisers, tyres and the aerodynamics have all been adjusted. The rear differential and the e-gear transmission has been redeveloped. The ESP program has also been recalibrated to allow for controlled oversteer.
The engine: 5.2-litre V10 unit putting out 5410kW and 530Nm of torque
The speed: 0 to 100km/h in 3.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 320km/h.
New features: transparent engine cover, dark gray wheels, full black leather, rear-view camera, sat-nav system.
The Lamborghini LP550-2 Valentino Balboni model will be limited to 250 units worldwide. The Gallardo is Lamborghini's most successful model of all time.
Valentino Balboni has now retired but continues to travel as an ambassador of Lamborghini.
