This year was relatively slow in terms of new truck releases, but once again, it’s the Swedes that lead the field when it comes to releasing the best trucks in the world. The new Volvo FH is the best thing we’ve seen in the truck world this year, improving on the brilliant outgoing model.
The new FH has even more cab room than ever before; a whole cubic metre in fact. There’s definitely been a focus on improving the comfort of the driver, and Volvo never fails here. The all new parking cooler is also a nice addition. Excellent handling also counts in the Volvo’s favour.
The other big release was the Mercedes-Benz Actros, which featured a whole new engine from the German manufacturer; a diesel inline straight six with common rail technology. This truck is again designed with drivers in mind. The top spec cab has a massive amount of interior space. For mercedes trucks online - www.trucklocator.co.uk is a great choice.
An honourable mention also goes to the Scania R-Series Black Amber. It’s not a whole new model, but it’s got the best paint job we’ve seen this year.
