General Motors has approved the development and construction of a series version of Cadillac's Converj.
Converj concept debuted at the Detroit Auto Show this year. Converj model is be based on the Chevrolet Volt and is equipped with an electric motor that provides 161 hp and 370 Nm. As in the case of Chevrolet Volt, Cadillac Converj model is powered by an lithium-ion battery of 16 kWh, loaded with a 1.4 liter petrol engine.
Customers who choose a Cadillac Converj can load their batteries from an 240 or 120 volts plug. Cadillac Converj has an 64 kilometers(39.7677563 miles) autonomy in 100% electric mode.
Unlike the Chevrolet Volt, Converj model will be driven by performance and style. Considering that Converj uses the architecture of Chevrolet Volt development and production costs should be lower. Of course, the price of a Cadillac Converj will be significantly higher than that of a Chevrolet Volt, but this will be seen in the space offered by Cadillac, but also in performance measurement and materials provided..
