50 years ago, the reference model for the modern German motorbikes was released: BMW R75 / 5. Today the myth has returned to life thanks to a limited exclusive series: BMW R nineT / 5.

In 1969, the R 75/5 made his debut, the first maxi bike in the modern era of BMW. The model was a comfortable, fast, secure and featured a 750 cc cylinder-sized boxer engine that developed 50CP, a 4-speed gearbox, drum brakes and a complete instrument cluster that included the speedometer and the total mileage. This was the basis for the other models that were later launched until 1996. Of course, over the years, the disc brakes and the 5-speed gearbox have been introduced.

50 years after the debut of the famous model, BMW wanted to pay tribute with the new R nineT / 5 special model.

The BMW R nineT / 5 is powered by a twin-cylinder boxer with 1170 cc displacement and 110 hp. The latest electronic systems are worth mentioning: ABS and ASC (traction control) are standard equipment, just like the heated handles. A 320-millimeter double disc brake at the front ensures the right deceleration. The 2-in-1 exhaust system with chrome-plated manifolds and polished rear silencer is made of stainless steel.

The spoke wheels are 3.5 x 17 inches at the front and 5.5 x 17 inches at the back. The fork bridges and footrests are made of forged aluminum.
