Mitsubishi Motors has officially introduced the new generation Mitsubishi ASX to the European market, along with two other SUV models, the Mitsubishi Space Star and Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross PHEV. As the company expands its model range, the new generation ASX is set to join showrooms soon, with the all-new Mitsubishi COLT following in autumn. With an eye-catching exterior design and a range of powertrain options, the ASX is explicitly developed for the European market and takes over from the previous generation Mitsubishi ASX, which sold close to 380,000 cars in Europe.

Mitsubishi ASX

The new Mitsubishi ASX, positioned in the middle of the B-SUV segment, benefits from the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance CMF-B platform, which brings a range of powertrain options, including Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV), full Hybrid (HEV), and Mild Hybrid. The new ASX is a timely and essential offering from Mitsubishi, with the region at the forefront of new standards and customers demanding more from their vehicles. Mitsubishi Motors has made a name for itself with its SUV range, and the new generation ASX is an electrified SUV that builds on the brand's history and the success of its predecessor.

Mitsubishi ASX

The new generation Mitsubishi ASX has a wide range of powertrain options. This includes the Mitsubishi ASX Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) with a 2.4-liter petrol engine and two electric motors, providing a combined output of 209 hp and an all-electric range of up to 28 miles. The full hybrid (HEV) option features a 2.0-liter petrol engine combined with an electric motor, producing a total output of 150 horsepower. The mild hybrid (MHEV) option features a 1.5-liter petrol engine combined with a 48-volt mild hybrid system, providing an extra boost during acceleration and improving fuel efficiency.

All powertrain options come with Mitsubishi's Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) system, which provides excellent stability and traction on all surfaces. This system combines several technologies, including Active Yaw Control (AYC), which controls torque distribution between the front and rear wheels, and brake force control, which applies the brakes to individual wheels to improve handling.

The new Mitsubishi ASX is quick and agile, thanks to the power and torque provided by the hybrid powertrains. The PHEV model, in particular, offers impressive acceleration and a smooth, quiet driving experience. The Mitsubishi ASX also features a responsive suspension system that provides a comfortable ride and excellent handling.

The Mitsubishi ASX takes design cues from the Dynamic Shield design at the front, which is continued along the side and rear with a new ASX model logo design and Mitsubishi logo above the tailgate. Inside, the ASX seamlessly integrates the digital experience customers expect from modern cars, including a high level of digitization in the passenger compartment, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Smartphone-link Display Audio, Digital Driver Display, and BOSE Premium sound system.

Mitsubishi ASX

Safety is also a top priority for the new ASX, with advanced safety systems such as forward collision mitigation with pedestrian detection, distance warning, lane departure warning, lane assist, traffic sign recognition, cruise control, parking sensors, and a reversing camera. MI-PILOT technology is also included, which helps to reduce the strain on long-distance driving on motorways and in traffic jams.

Mitsubishi ASX

The new generation Mitsubishi ASX has been developed to make the B-SUV distinctive and stand out on the road, with an aesthetic of strength, dynamism, robustness, and a sporty appearance. It comes with a choice of six colors, and in the INTENSE+ and INSTYLE equipment levels, a metallic Onyx Black roof can also be selected, giving a distinctive two-tone look.

As SUV growth and electrification continue to dominate the European market, the new ASX is well-positioned to meet the demands of today's customers. With its advanced safety features, digitization, and customizable accessories, the Mitsubishi ASX offers a modern and exciting driving experience. Customers can look forward to seeing the new generation ASX in showrooms in March, followed by the all-new Mitsubishi Colt in the autumn.
