With an electric range of up to 58 kilometres mixed with a super-efficient petrol engine, the Cupra Formentor Plug-in e-HYBRID combines the best of all worlds in the brand's first self-developed electrified model. CUPRA Formentor Plug-in e-HYBRID - the first independently developed model from the Spanish brand - will kick-start CUPRA's offensive in a world that is becoming more electric, while demonstrating that electrification and performance are a perfect match.
The new Cupra Formentor e-Hybrid coupe SUV gets its power from an efficient and intelligent driveline: a 1.4-litre TSI engine, a powerful electric motor and a 13 kWh battery. The combination of petrol and electricity maximizes power, lowers consumption and at the same time makes it possible to run on clean electricity just like a fully electric car. The battery weighs only 130 kilos, which the designers have placed as low as possible in the hybrid car to lower the car's centre of gravity and preserve the model's sporty driving characteristics. You can also charge the battery with a cord. With a standard home charger, a full charge takes just about 3 hours and 40 minutes.
You can choose between two different versions: CUPRA Formentor Plug-in e-HYBRID SUV with 204 horsepower and CUPRA Formentor VZ Plug-in e-HYBRID with 245 horsepower. Both versions use the same front-wheel-drive driveline and a 6-speed DSG gearbox. The 204 hp version accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 7.8 seconds and manages an electric range of up to 58 kilometres. The CUPRA Formentor VZ Plug-in HYBRID with 245 hp reaches from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7 seconds and makes it possible to drive fully electric for up to 54 kilometres.
The new CUPRA Formentor Plug-in e-HYBRID SUV always starts in purely electrical mode. The driving program automatically switches to hybrid mode if the battery power level is low or if the speed surpasses 140 km/h. In hybrid mode, you can also choose between two driving programs: Hybrid-Auto and Hybrid-Manual. The Hybrid-Auto mode is the default setting, which automatically prioritizes the distribution of electric and petrol power, while the Hybrid-Manual manual enables you to choose between additional modes.
The Cupra Formentor e-Hybrid comes as standard: 10.25-inch digital instrumentation, 10-inch infotainment touch screen, adaptive cruise control, high beam assistant, parking assistant with a rearview camera, sports seats, multifunctional steering wheel, active LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels.
The new performance hybrid SUV is introduced at the same time as Formentor has achieved five stars in Euro NCAP's safety test.
