Skoda has presented the new coupe version of its Enyaq iV SUV. The new electric coupe will be the brand's first electric car to come onto the market in a sporty RS version. In addition, there is also a "Sportline" version. The new electric vehicle has two battery sizes available, rear or all-wheel drive and several performance levels.
"The Skoda Enyaq Coupe iV has an even more dynamic design and, despite its sporty lines, offers generous space and a trunk volume of 570 liters," advertises the Czech Volkswagen subsidiary. The drag coefficient is improved compared to the Skoda Enyaq iV, which is now cd 0.234. Depending on the equipment, the 2022 Skoda Enyaq Coupe iV has a maximum range of 545 kilometers (WLTP).
The Skoda Enyaq Coupe iV is produced with the Skoda Enyaq iV at the Skoda main plant in Mladá Boleslav. The Skoda Enyaq iV variants are the only models based on the modular electrification kit (MEB) from the Volkswagen Group that roll off the production line in Europe outside of Germany. The coupé has a unique front apron and side skirts in the body color and is fitted with 19 to 21-inch light-alloy wheels. The roofline slopes backward from the B-pillar and merges with a sharp spoiler lip into a tailgate. The dark-tinted panoramic glass roof is standard on the electric coupe. In addition, it's thinner than the traditional roof, giving passengers more headroom.
The Skoda Enyaq Coupe iV is delivered in four versions. It starts with 132 kW (180 hp) and exclusively rear-wheel-drive for the Enyaq Coupe iV 60 with a 62 kWh battery. The Skoda Enyaq Coupe iV 80 with 150 kW (204 hp) and an 82 kWh battery is also powered by the rear wheels. In addition to the larger battery, the Skoda Enyaq Coupe iV 80x and the Skoda Enyaq Coupe RS iV have a second motor on the front axle and offer all-wheel drive. The Skoda Enyaq Coupé iV 80x has a system output of 195 kW (265 hp).
The Skoda Enyaq Coupé RS iV provides 220 kW (299 hp) system output and a maximum torque of 460 Nm. According to Skoda, this version is characterized by a particularly dynamic driving experience and various black accents. The Skoda Enyaq Coupe RS iV requires 6.5 seconds to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h and achieves a top speed of 180 km/h - 20 km/h more than the other variants.
As with the Skoda Enyaq iV, the "Crystal Face" is also available as an option for the electric coupe: 131 LEDs illuminate the Skoda grille, and a horizontal light strip completes the visual impression. The Crystal Face is standard on the Enyaq Coupé RS iV. In addition, the Enyaq Coupé iV can tow a braked trailer weighing up to 1200 kilograms on a 12 percent incline with the optional trailer hitch.
The technology in the interior includes the central infotainment display with a screen diagonal of 13 inches and the 5.3-inch "Digital Cockpit." In addition, a head-up display with augmented reality is available. Skoda has not yet revealed how much the Enyaq Coupe iV will cost. The Skoda Enyaq iV electric SUV is currently available for 34,600 euros, and the electric coupe should start at over 40,000 euros. The company will only announce the exact date for the market launch later.
