It was a letter of intent for Kia to prove that they were no longer as basic as they were a few years ago and that they could now compete with the best and even aspire to disturb superior segments with the Stinger. They achieved it without question, and it needed to be updated to keep up with the times. The 2022 Kia Stinger sports car is here, and it is time to meet it. Changes in design and technology have been made due to a new engine.
More than just handsome, Stinger's design is a fastback with an athletic cut and an elegance that has defined it. For the 2022 model, things are mostly the same except for a few new features in the headlights, skulls, and the contour of the fascia. New design wheels, a new logo, and bigger exhaust tips are the only notable alterations to its appearance.
The 2022 Kia Stinger's interior has its familiar lines, but it adds some slick black plastics and chrome inserts to the dashboard and new seams and patterns to the doors; lastly, ambient lighting extends now bit farther.
Things have not changed much at the equipment level, including automatic air conditioning, the option to have a Harman/Kardon sound system, electrically adjustable seats, an analog instrument panel with a color screen in the middle, an automated parking brake, and wireless charging for cellphones. With either an 8-inch screen or a new 10.25-inch digital screen, both of which are compatible with CarPlay and Android Auto, you will be able to improve your vehicle's infotainment system.
The Kia Stinger sports car retains some safety features, such as blind-spot alert, adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, and lane maintenance. Kia also adds 360-degree vision and the ability to replace the central screen of the 4.2"x7" instrument panel in which the blind spot monitor can be seen, which when activating a turn signal will show on that screen what the mirror camera sees on that side.
A new 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine from Kia replaces the Stinger's outgoing 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, delivering 45 horsepower and 61 pound-feet more torque: 300 hp and 311 pound-feet of torque.
Powered by an 8-speed automatic transmission, this engine can deliver power to either the rear or all four wheels. If you enjoy a more powerful engine, you may choose the Kia Stinger GT model powered by the same 3.0-liter V6 bi-turbo with 368 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque and is controlled by an 8-speed automatic transmission with either rear- or four-wheel drive. Electronic valves in the exhaust of the most potent variant allow it to be tuned for various serious sounds.
It has been confirmed that the 2022 Kia Stinger will come at some point in the future, although we do not yet know when or in what form.
