The Mercedes-AMG SL 63 received a special Motorsport Collectors Edition at the start of this year, inspired by the German manufacturer's Formula 1 single-seater from the 2021 season. Of course, it is a collector's model, to be made in a limited edition of only 100 copies.
The 2022 season may not have been the happiest for Mercedes-Benz in Formula 1, but the German manufacturer has enjoyed glory over the years in this competition. For this reason, the Germans have decided to celebrate the success of the most important motorsport competition with a special edition dedicated to the Mercedes-AMG SL 63 model.
On the outside, the Mercedes-AMG SL 63 Motorsport Collectors Edition looks great and has the power to turn heads. The Germans used an exterior shade that transitioned from gray to black. In addition, we notice a series of accents in the color green that give a different contrast. We also notice in the back the graphics that we already know from the W12 single-seater.
On a technical level, things have remained the same, so we are talking about a 4.0-liter V8 engine capable of delivering 585 horsepower and a maximum torque of 800 Nm. In these conditions, the Mercedes-AMG SL 63 Motorsport Collectors Edition sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds.
The Germans still offer the AMG Aerodynamic, AMG Night, and AMG Night II packages as standard for the Mercedes-AMG SL 63 Motorsport Collectors Edition model. So we have a whole host of additional aerodynamics and black exterior trim. The model also has a set of 21-inch rims and a black textile roof.
In the passenger compartment, we find a set of AMG Performance seats covered in Nappa leather, which can have yellow or red stitching. The AMG emblem can be seen on the headrests. At a closer look, we also notice several carbon fiber trims, a Burmester audio system, a Head-Up-Display, and an AMG Track Pace telemetry system.
