The Swedish company announces the production for the next year of an armored version of the XC90 and XC60 SUVs. The armor does not spoil the aesthetics and luxury of the original models.
Volvo is almost at the level of armored cars. Volvo also develops light armored vehicles for police, security companies, and private individuals who need a high degree of protection. The Swedish company announces the next production of an armored version of its larger SUVs, the Volvo XC90 and XC60. They will be marketed in the first half of 2020.
Not much information is available at the moment about this special production line. The armor meets the VPAM VR8 specifications against projectiles and explosives. The vehicle is developed in collaboration with the German company specialized in armor-plating Trasco.
Seen from afar, the thick armored glasses seem indistinguishable from the normal ones. Inside, luxury is expected of all cars the Swedish company produces.
Nothing is said about the technical specifications. It is only pointed out that the chassis has been adapted to the greater load on the vehicle and that it offers the necessary stability to allow evasive tactical maneuvers to perform which, usually, armored vehicle drivers are specially trained.
