The British carmaker has released the first images and technical data about the McLaren 765LT Spider, their most powerful sports convertible to date. However, production will be limited to only 765 copies sold globally. The order list is now open.

Despite the rather complex roof mechanism, the new McLaren 765LT Spider is only 49 kilograms heavier than the coupe version, and its weight is 1,388 kilograms. At the same time, the new McLaren convertible is 80 kilograms lighter than the 720S Spider model. The hard-top ceiling, made of carbon fibre, can be operated up to 50 km / h. The time to lower or raise it takes around 11 seconds.

Even with the roof raised, the driver can lower the rear window to fully enjoy the titanium exhaust's sound.

The new McLaren 765LT Spider comes with a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that develops 765 horsepower (563 kW) and 800 Nm of torque. Under these circumstances, the latest McLaren convertible reaches 0-100 km / h in 2.8 seconds. Furthermore, the 0-200 km / h half lasts 7.2 seconds, and the maximum speed is 330 km / h. The automatic transmission has been optimized for acceleration as quickly as possible. The rear wing is active and has different settings depending on the position of the roof.

In the interior, McLaren relied on elements inspired by motorsport. Passengers will find sports seats with carbon fibre structure, a median tunnel made of the same lightweight material and accessories covered with Alcantara.

The order list is open, and the price of a copy starts at 364,000 euros. @via McLaren.
