Toyota released the first pictures with the true hot hatch from the Yaris range.
The new Toyota GR Yaris is as serious as possible in terms of performance. Developed by the Gazoo Racing division, with the help of Tommi Makinen Racing, GR Yaris prides itself on 261 horsepower and 360 Newton-meters, taken from a 1.6-liter three-cylinder in-line engine.
The connection between the engine and wheels is made through a six-speed manual transmission, and power resources are intelligently distributed to all four wheels through the GR-Four all-wheel-drive system. The torque distribution on the decks is adaptable: in Normal mode, the ratio is 60:40; in Sport mode, it changes in 30:70. And in Track running mode, the distribution of resources on decks is 50:50.
The 17-inch wheels conceal a powerful braking system with 356 mm diameter discs and four pistons per callipers. With the Circuit Pack, little Yaris also receives two Torsen differentials.
Toyota GR Yaris can move its 1,280 kilograms easily: 0-100 km / h in 5.5 seconds, and the maximum speed is electronically limited to 230 km / h. The Japanese manufacturer says that the GR Yaris is the basis of the next Toyota model for the WRC.
