The new Hyundai Sante Fe SUV gets a new and improved Terrain Mode selector, with individualized settings for snow, sand and mud. The new Sante Fe is Hyundai's first model in Europe with a terrain selector, and the system will also be integrated into upcoming SUVs from Hyundai Motor.
The terrain selector allows the driver to optimize the car's ability under several different driving conditions. Integrated control functionality for torque, gear shift pattern, mounting, and distribution of four-wheel drive optimize driving characteristics on difficult driving conditions. The system mounts on Hyundai's advanced four-wheel drive system, HTRAC, and contributes to an even better driving experience.
Terrain modes:
Snow: Optimizes control of the vehicle by limiting wheel spin, so that the car performs best on slippery surfaces and snow
Sand: Optimizes the acceleration and performance for driving on soft sand and on high-resistance roads
Mud: Optimizes performance for driving on slippery and uneven roads with high resistance
The new Santa Fe is Hyundai's first model on the European market with the company's brand new global modular platform (GMP). This new platform provides results in the form of better performance, higher efficiency, more security and even better space. The car has a strong and distinct design, and has a comprehensive and innovative safety, technology and equipment package.
The new terrain selector will also be launched on brand new SUV models from Hyundai in the coming months.
The new Santa Fe is the first model to be available in Europe with Hyundai's new "SmartStream" hybrid and rechargeable powertrains. The Hyundai Santa Fe SUV comes with the same 1.6-liter turbo petrol engine at the bottom, but combined with an electric motor of 66.9 kW. It provides a system power of 265 horsepower, and a torque of 350 Nm. The battery pack is 13.8 kWt, and the car will have a real electric range. Rechargeable Santa Fe has four-wheel drive as standard.
