Range Rover Sport SV Carbon: Performance First, Carbon Always

Range Rover Sport SV Carbon

Flagship SUV Sharpens Focus with Carbon Upgrades

The 2025 Range Rover Sport SV Carbon completes the brand’s high-performance lineup. It joins the SV and SV Black trims as the most lightweight-focused variant yet. With the same 635-hp twin-turbo V8 mild-hybrid engine, the SV Carbon doesn’t chase more power—it chases less mass and better dynamics.

Land Rover engineers have used carbon fiber strategically. Every gram saved aims to sharpen acceleration, improve handling, and maintain comfort. It’s a material change, not a cosmetic one.

Targeted Weight Savings with Carbon Fiber

Carbon fiber isn’t just in the name. It’s in the hood, wheels, brakes, and seat structures.

  • Twill Exposed Carbon Hood: Available with signature diagonal weave.
  • Forged Carbon Exterior Pack: Standard. Includes carbon inserts around exhaust and body panels.
  • 23-inch Carbon Fiber Wheels: Save up to 167 lbs vs. aluminum wheels.
  • Carbon Ceramic Brakes: Drop additional weight, improve stopping power, reduce fade.

Result: Better agility. Quicker response. No compromise to comfort.

Interior: Focused, Not Flashy

The cockpit-style interior matches the SUV’s dynamic ambitions. The sports seats offer increased side bolstering, integrated headrests, and forged carbon back shells.

Four interior themes are offered:

  • Ebony
  • Rosewood/Ebony
  • Light Cloud/Ebony
  • Cinder Grey/Ebony (leather-free Ultrafabrics™)

Key interior details:

  • SV logos illuminate on seats and door sills.
  • Forged and Twill Carbon trim available across dash and console.
  • Moonlight Chrome replaces traditional brightwork.
  • Body and Soul Seat (BASS) system delivers vibration-based audio to front passengers.

No Power Gains—Because It Doesn’t Need Any

The SV Carbon sticks with the 635-hp, 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 mild hybrid, shared with other SV variants. Peak torque hits 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) using Dynamic Launch Mode.

It’s already the most powerful Range Rover Sport ever. Acceleration remains aggressive, with 0–60 mph estimated under 3.7 seconds. Top speed? 180 mph.

No tuning tricks. No artificial sound enhancements. Just raw, usable performance.

6D Dynamics Suspension System Carries Over

Land Rover’s 6D Dynamics suspension comes standard. It uses hydraulically linked dampers and air springs to:

  • Eliminate pitch and roll during cornering, acceleration, and braking.
  • Deliver comfort over long distances without sacrificing control.

This system isn’t just active. It’s predictive. It reacts in real time to maintain balance.

Braking Performance That Matches the Power

Carbon Ceramic brakes are optional but recommended. They’re paired with 8-piston SV calipers, available in:

  • Blue
  • Yellow
  • Carbon Bronze
  • Black

The braking system matches the SUV’s increased athleticism. No fade. No drama.

Exclusivity Through Color and Trim

The SV Carbon comes in four exclusive paint colors, plus additional options from the SV Premium Palette. These aren’t off-the-shelf finishes—they’re curated to match the SUV’s technical focus.

Highlights:

  • Deep gloss finishes accentuate carbon surfaces.
  • Forged Carbon Pack integrates seamlessly with the rest of the body.
  • Color options balance stealth and presence.

Pricing and Availability

Expect the Range Rover Sport SV Carbon to command a premium over the SV Black. While official U.S. pricing hasn't been announced, estimates place it near $170,000–$180,000 USD, depending on options.

Global debut is set for August 13 during Monterey Car Week at Range Rover House. Orders are now open in select markets, with deliveries expected in late 2025.

Strategic Positioning: A Lightweight Halo Model

This isn’t a replacement. It’s a statement. The SV Carbon:

  • Completes the SV performance trio.
  • Prioritizes mass reduction over output escalation.
  • Targets enthusiasts who understand that less weight means more speed, more agility, and less compromise.

Compared to the SV and SV Black:

ModelPowerFocusPrice (Est.)
SV635 hpBalanced performance$155,000 USD
SV Black635 hpMonochrome design$160,000 USD
SV Carbon635 hpLightweight performance$175,000 USD

Range Rover Sport SV Carbon

Land Rover's New Direction

Range Rover continues to expand beyond luxury. The SV Carbon isn’t for everyone. It’s for the few who want luxury, design, and track-capable performance in the same SUV.

The carbon fiber strategy proves Land Rover isn’t just dipping into lightweight materials—they’re building around them. That matters in a market where weight is the enemy, especially with growing EV sizes.

And no, this isn’t about range or sustainability. It’s about performance, engineering, and results.

Range Rover Sport SV Carbon

Final Word: Focused, Fast, and Worth It

The 2025 Range Rover Sport SV Carbon isn’t louder or more aggressive. It’s smarter. Every upgrade has a purpose. Every material choice serves performance.

If you're searching for a Range Rover that handles like a sports sedan, brakes like a supercar, and still rides like a Range Rover, this is the one.
