The SsangYong Korando with 163hp from 23,000 euros

SsangYong Korando

The new SsangYong Korando features a wholly unique, distinct style, with a new look that keeps the SsangYong look in common with the Tivoli and Rexton models. The family look of the Ssang Yong car is accentuated with a strong contour, strong lines, and robust wheel arches.

The SsangYong Korando SUV has been in production for 37 years and is now in its 4th generation, and its distinctive SsangYong tradition has advanced to create a representative look. The deliberate presence and glossy black chrome grille ensure the intense SUV look of the Korando model. In addition, the dynamic lines in the rear and side pillars give the Korando an elegant and stylish profile.

The interior of the new SsangYong Korando is an expression of contemporary style and high-quality finishes. The feeling of the environment is given by the metallic elements, the large LCD screens, the elegant ambient lighting, and the luxurious leather chairs. It combines style and technology rarely found in car interiors, designed to delight and pamper the driver.

SsangYong Korando

In the new Korando, SsangYong has strived to build a high-quality interior that is attractive and comfortable. The fully integrated ambient design, inspired by the keyboard of a musical instrument, seamlessly surrounds the air nozzles and a multitude of technical features. As a result, SsangYong Korando offers an exceptional interior and comfort for both driver and passengers, with ergonomically designed seats and generous legroom. You'll also find sliding armrests, high-capacity door pockets, and a glovebox large enough for an iPad.

The spacious interior of the newest Korando indulges you with premium materials and protects you from the hustle and bustle of the outdoors. All the meticulously crafted details contribute to a premium interior space, from the best quality chairs to the ambient lighting in 34 optional colors. No matter how long or short the road, any trip is pure pleasure with the newest SsangYong Korando.

The new SsangYong Korando is equipped with the Smart Audio multimedia system with an 8-inch touch screen, compatible with Android Auto and CarPlay systems. In addition, the advanced models are equipped with a 9-inch touch screen control unit, which has navigation software with a map of the entire European Union.

Our new control interface is Blaze Board for the first time at SsangYong and exclusively at the Ultimate model. You will find not one but two digital screens that give you control. The first is a complete set of 10.25-inch digital tools that offer a variety of intuitive features, such as mirroring your phone, step-by-step guidance, and more. The second is a dedicated 9-inch multifunction screen for navigation to quickly guide you to your destination. It also provides fully customizable LED lighting for the entire dashboard and the driver's and passenger's door, allowing you to set the atmosphere with a selection of 34 colors.

Designed for versatility, the SsangYong Korando is suitable for both city and weekend trips and will be available for the first time with a 1.5 l GDI-Turbo petrol engine and a 1.6 l diesel engine version.

The SsangYong Korando is available with a new 1.5 GDI-Turbo petrol engine or a 1.6 diesel engine, which guarantees maximum fuel economy and driving satisfaction, whatever your choice. Moreover, with a towing capacity of up to 2 tons and an impressive all-wheel-drive system, the Korando guarantees safety in poor driving conditions - from transporting children to school in rainy weather to a weekend caravan at sea. Innovative construction techniques also mean that the new Korando has high NVH standards for smooth and quiet running.

SsangYong Korando

A refined engine installation system, along with damping measures for the powertrain and transmission, maximizes noise reduction and allows the Korando to reach exceptional NVH levels. In addition, by using constructive elements such as cushioning under the floor, foam filling of the pillars, and soundproofing of the ceiling, the new Korando insulates the interior from engine noise, road noise, and outside sounds, providing a quiet ride.

The new SsangYong Korando is handsome and maneuverable, but that's not all - it's also the safest and most durable Korando of all time. Our safety orientation is integrated right from the construction, with a chassis positioned at the top of its class, made of 74% high-strength steel. We also installed a system of 6 airbags - which includes driver and passenger airbags, side airbags, and curtain.

If the SUV detects pedestrians or other cars on the planned route, the AEBS system reduces the power supply and switches the brakes on automatically to prevent serious accidents. With the help of radar and video cameras, the IACC maintains a speed and distance from the vehicle in front that ensures safe driving. The IACC system works in conjunction with the lane-tracking system and can fi be active not only on the highway but also in the city as long as the brake pedal is not depressed. For example, suppose another vehicle is approaching from behind when leaving the parking lot; in that case, the EAF warns the driver with acoustic signals and a warning sign on the screen.

SDA constantly monitors speed and distance and warns the driver with an acoustic signal if the distance to the front vehicle falls below the braking distance. For example, if the RCTA detects a car approaching the road during a reversing maneuver, it will sound an alarm and apply the brake to stop the vehicle and prevent a collision. Likewise, when the car in front of you starts moving, the FVSA system emits visual and audible warning signals.

The LKAS system consists of several cameras to monitor traffic lane separation markings. When it notices that the vehicle is about to leave the lane without warning, the system switches on the power steering to keep the car on the road. If the lane change occurs when a vehicle approaches from behind at high speed and is less than 70 m away, the lane change assistant (LCA) will turn on the warning lights in the exterior mirrors and emit acoustic warning signals. The HBA monitors the headlights of oncoming vehicles and the combined headlamps of the vehicle's optical blocks moving in front of the car. Depending on them, it automatically switches between the high beam and the dipped beam headlamp.

The DAA continuously monitors the driver's maneuvers and, if it detects signs of tired driving, issues an audible warning and recommends that the driver take a break to rest.

The new SsangYong Korando gives its occupants peace, security, and the certainty that they have made the right choice. Since the design phase, the passengers' comfort, pleasure, and safety have been in the engineers' attention. And their attention and skill paid off, and SsangYong Korando received a 5-star rating in the EuroNCAP tests.

ESP helps maintain steering stability on any road surface, even in adverse weather conditions, by intervening on the accelerator pedal and distributing the braking force to the individual wheels. In the case of descending particularly steep inclines, activating the HDC shifts the transmission to a lower gear, and the brakes are applied. When the driver releases the brake pedal when starting on the ramp, the HSA maintains the braking pressure until the driver depresses the accelerator pedal to prevent the car from rolling backward. ARP adjusts engine power and brake force distribution on individual wheels for tight cornering at high speeds to avoid the SUV from overturning. If emergency braking is detected, BAS maximizes braking pressure to reduce braking distance and the risk of a severe accident. If the driver brakes suddenly, the ESS automatically activates the hazard warning lights to warn the drivers of the vehicles behind the car.

Also, the new SsangYong Korando 1.5 GDI-Turbo with 163hp has a starting price of 23,000 euros.

SsangYong Korando

It should also be mentioned about the new SsangYong Korando e-Motion mid-size electric SUV that shares aesthetic elements with the conventional version of Korando. The small differences are the design accents specific to electric vehicles, such as the front grille without ventilation slots and the blue stripes inside the headlights. And, of course, the new SsangYong Korando e-Motion is powered by a single 190 hp electric motor located on the front axle connected to a 61.5 kWh battery, which offers a range of 322 kilometers.
