The film's director, Ángel Manuel Soto, said that he chose the Tacoma for its ruggedness and versatility. The Taco Truck is a 1995 Toyota Tacoma Xtra Cab model, painted in white and red. It features a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 142 horsepower and 160 lb-ft of torque, paired with a five-speed manual transmission.

The Taco Truck is a symbol of Jaime's heritage and culture, as well as his family's business. It also serves as a mobile headquarters for Jaime and his friends, who use it to monitor the Scarab's activity and communicate with other superheroes. The Taco Truck has been modified with various gadgets and equipment, such as a satellite dish, a computer screen, a scanner, and a hidden compartment for storing the Scarab.

The film's producer, John Rickard, said that he wanted to pay homage to the original Tacoma, which debuted in 1995 as a replacement for the Toyota Pickup.
