The Renault Zoe ZE is an all-electric zero-emission car

Renault Zoe ZE

Brand

  • Renault

The Renault Zoe ZE Concept demonstrates that an all-electric zero-emission car can still be stylish. The Zoe ZE Concept is equipped with technology that extends the vehicle's range and improves the comfort of all passengers. The Renault Zoe ZE Concept is a small, flexible daily vehicle that represents a fresh approach to transportation.

The Zoe ZE Concept is aimed at car owners who have more than one vehicle and are searching for a small, adaptable vehicle that can fulfill their many daily demands, such as school or work runs, or shopping outings.

The Renault Zoe ZE Concept is an all-electric, zero-emission car that combines driving with the environmental goals of consumers seeking a vehicle with the smallest possible environmental imprint.

The Renault Zoe ZE Concept is proof that a zero-emission car can still have a dynamic, edgy, appealing appearance that instantly speaks to driving enjoyment, thanks to cutting-edge electric vehicle technology. Aerodynamics has a considerable impact on a zero-emission vehicle's performance, and in the case of the Zoe ZE Concept project, the overarching design considerations were beauty and efficiency.

Renault Zoe ZE

The Renault Zoe ZE Concept is only 4.10m long, with a 70kW electric powertrain producing 226Nm of torque. It's easy to envision the car gliding softly past traffic in densely populated regions. The wide 21-inch wheels and broad body panels are reassuring features that provide total peace of mind to the four travelers when going out of town.

A retractable spoiler at the back deploys at speeds above 90kph to help the Zoe ZE Concept's aerodynamic efficiency even further. The integrated light in the shark's fin-style antenna on the roof, as well as the LED-equipped spoiler, function as brake lights.

The roof has been developed as an intelligent protective barrier that insulates the inhabitants from heat and cold while also enhancing temperature control performance using honeycomb photovoltaic cells. A polyurethane gel cover protects the lights, which include energy-efficient electroluminescent LEDs that emit a blue-tinted light, from the front and back. This second shell protects sensitive components from minor impacts while emphasizing the high-tech feel of this electric concept automobile. The air intakes on either side of the automobile direct airflow to the batteries, which keeps them cool.

The front seat cushions are shaped like an asymmetric pebble, and the seatbacks are secured to the roof. The seats in the back may be folded flat to increase carrying capacity.

The dashboard contributes to the clean sense of the cabin. It's protected by an intelligent, mineral-like barrier, and even the tiniest touch activates a variety of touchscreen functions. A glass bubble houses the broad TFT (Thin Film Transistor) screen. This is the Zoe ZE Concept's major information center, and it displays navigation data, the charge meter, and remaining range, as well as a palette of coloured mood lighting options for customizing the interior atmosphere. This mood lighting may also be adjusted automatically by a sensor in the driver's seat, which adjusts the lighting to match the driver's clothing colors.

Renault Zoe ZE

An avatar emerges on the TFT screen to convey information, forming a link between the driver and the technology through brief messages. The avatar (male or female, available from the internet) may be customized and gives information about traffic conditions, route, and remaining range. It may also show you where the nearest charging stations are. This approach humanizes technology, making it more approachable and establishing a relationship with the driver to make travels as enjoyable as possible.

The hands-free keycard may also be customised by attaching a chip to an object of the customer's choice, allowing for automated door locking and ignition.

When it comes to refilling energy, the driver has three options:

  • A typical charge takes four to eight hours and is done using a charging connection on the exterior of the car.
  • Using the same plug at specified charging sites, a fast charge may be completed in 20 minutes.
  • Three minutes at a quick battery swap station with the unique 'Quickdrop' technology.
