The ID.3 is a significant milestone for Volkswagen as the company continues to make strides in transitioning to electric mobility. The second-generation ID.3 is now available for sale, and I am excited to share all of its amazing features and capabilities with you.
The ID.3 is the first electric car based on Volkswagen's MEB platform, which has already delivered over 600,000 ID. cars worldwide. The ID. family now consists of six different models on the global market. Volkswagen's commitment to value, design, and sustainability is evident in the ID.3's matured design and upgraded interior materials quality.
The exterior of the new Volkswagen ID.3 has a sharper, more confident look. The air cooling openings in the front are optimized, and the large lacquered surfaces give the car an independent, friendly expression from every angle. The optimized airflow around the front wheels improves the car's aerodynamics. The two-part taillights in the tailgate also shine for the first time.
The interior of the ID.3 is also updated to provide a more comfortable experience with improved material quality. The steering wheel is now covered in vegan leather, and the equipment in the interior is manufactured without animal elements as standard. Volkswagen has greatly emphasized durability, and the microfiber material Artvelours Eco is used for door decorations and upholstery on the seats, which is 71 percent recycled.
The new Volkswagen ID.3 is equipped with the latest software to improve system performance and enable Over-the-Air updates. The continuously improved ID. software also offers functions that can be activated later (on-demand functions). Volkswagen has also implemented various customer wishes in the menu structure, making it more informative and easier to use.
The ID.3 comes with the latest generation of assistance systems, such as cloud data in the optional Travel Assist system, which represents the next step towards highly automated driving. The Park Assist Plus with memory function (optional) enables automatic retrieval and use of saved parking maneuvers. The cloud-based voice control function and Head-up Display with augmented reality in the new ID.3 also make everyday driving easier.
Volkswagen's commitment to sustainability is evident in the ID.3's carbon-neutral balance and the measures taken at the factory in Zwickau and at the battery cell manufacturer to reduce CO2 emissions in production. Climate protection measures with certified carbon dioxide credits compensate the remaining emission share.
With around 330,000 units sold, Volkswagen increased sales of all-electric cars worldwide by 23.6 percent in 2022 compared to the previous year. Volkswagen's goal is to produce only electric cars in Europe from 2033, and by 2030, at least 80 percent of Volkswagen's sales in Europe will come from fully electric cars. In the US and China, the goal is to reach a share of electric cars of more than 50 percent during the same period.
The Volkswagen ID.3 is an impressive electric car that showcases Volkswagen's commitment to sustainable, high-tech driving. The ID.3 is a significant milestone for Volkswagen as the company continues to make strides in transitioning to electric mobility. I highly recommend the Volkswagen ID.3 to anyone looking for an electric car.
