The new Mazda CX-5 family SUV from 31,500 euros

Mazda has unveiled the impending makeover for the brand's flagship vehicle, the CX-5 family SUV. The 2022 Mazda CX-5 receives a considerable design upgrade, both inside and out, and two separate special variants. In addition, Mazda is also expanding the amount of driveline and equipment level combinations available, adding new equipment, and improving driving characteristics and safety systems. The first vehicles are scheduled to arrive in January 2022.

Mazda's "Skyactiv-Vehicle Architecture" concept has been introduced for the 2022 Mazda CX-5, focusing even more on the interplay between the body, wheel suspension, shock absorption, and seats to improve driving enjoyment and ride comfort. This effort has also enhanced sound insulation against road noise, particularly on rough asphalt and gravel roads.

Another new feature for the 2022 Mazda CX-5 is the "Mazda Intelligent Drive Select (Mi-Drive)," which allows the driver to select various driving modes that adapt the vehicle to multiple situations. Models with a gasoline engine and four-wheel drive, for example, have the option of choosing a terrain mode that improves passability on rough roads and/or slick conditions.

The external look of the 2022 CX-5 is the most visible modification. The front of the car receives a redesigned and more three-dimensional grille structure and a new trademark wing, which refers to the chrome strip that runs between the headlights and beneath the grille and has lately been one of the brand's features. In addition, new front and back bumpers and new headlights and taillights with upgraded LED signatures. The vehicle also receives a brand-new exterior color dubbed Zircon Sand.

Two entirely new versions join the Mazda CX-5 lineup for 2022. The Mazda CX-5 Newground is an off-road-inspired car designed for an active lifestyle. It has silver-colored ornamental protection plates on the front and rear bumpers and matching silver décor on the door moldings. A robust appearance is enhanced with black lacquered external mirrors, a lime green accent in the grille, and 19-inch silver / black alloy wheels. The Mazda CX-5 Homura is the name of the second unique model designed for clients who like a more athletic appearance. The exterior is distinguished by black 19-inch alloy wheels, black lacquered exterior mirrors, and a black trademark wing in the grille rather than chrome. Furthermore, the bottom half of the bumpers, wheel arches, and side skirts are coated in a slick, black finish that adds to the sporty appearance. In addition, Homura has black upholstery in imitation leather/suede with red seams on the seats, steering wheel, gear lever, and door panels, as well as a black ceiling.

The Mazda CX-5 Signature is the name of the top model in the CX-5 lineup, and it is intended to convey a unique image. For the first time, the bottom section of the bumpers and wheelhouse edges are painted in the car's factory color, enhancing the Kodo design's exquisite features. Another exciting feature is the addition of a sunroof as an option for Signature. In addition, the inside has a variety of premium components, such as decorative panels in authentic Japanese wood veneer, more extensive interior lighting, and rare brown Nappa leather upholstery.

The 2022 Mazda CX-5 family SUV is available with a 2.0 Skyactiv G petrol engine of 165 hp (FWD and AWD), a 2.5 Skyactiv G petrol engine of 194 hp (AWD), and a 2.2-liter Skyactiv D diesel engine of 150 or 184 hp (FWD and AWD).

Other updates for the Mazda CX-5 family SUV include a mobile phone induction charger incorporated into the center console. A new floor has been installed in the cargo area, resulting in smooth cargo space. In addition, the CX-5 Newground includes a changeable baggage compartment floor with a tender back that can resist wet and filthy materials.

The range of safety systems includes Mazda's queue assistant Cruise & Traffic Support (CTS). When traveling in a line (up to 60 km/h), the technology supports the driver by regulating acceleration, speed, deceleration, and steering. Furthermore, the adaptive dimming headlamp has been modified and is now separated into twenty independently dimmable parts in each headlight rather than the previous twelve.
