Honda Skydeck world’s first sports hybrid car

The Tokyo Motor Show takes place in October. The CR-Z Concept is the most recent prototype of Honda's IMA technology in a tiny, nimble coupe. The production version will be the world's first sports hybrid automobile, as well as the first petrol-electric vehicle with a 6-speed manual transmission when it goes on sale in the UK next summer 2010.

Honda's booth, which is the largest at the event, will also display two new concept cars aimed at expanding the appeal of cleaner vehicle technologies.

The EV-N is a four-seater battery electric vehicle inspired by Honda's 360cc microcar, the N360, which debuted in the 1960s. Solar panels are installed on the roof, which can be used to charge the onboard battery. The EV-N is merely a concept with no intention of going into production.

The Honda Skydeck concept, a unique 6-seater hybrid MPV, will also make its premiere at the event. This is still a concept car, but it shows how Honda's IMA technology may be used in a variety of vehicles to meet a variety of demands. Many of the hybrid system components, including the high-power battery, are situated in the car's centre to give the Skydeck the practicality of a traditional MPV.
The Swindon-built Civic Type R EURO is among the other vehicles on exhibit. In November 2009, sales of the three-door British hot hatch began in Japan.

A special display zone called "HELLO!" (for Honda Electric Mobility Loop) will showcase a complete display of energy-based products, including devices that supply power, electric vehicles, and products with revolutionary electronic technology. In addition to the EV-N, this area will feature the FCX CLARITY, a hydrogen-fueled fuel cell electric vehicle; a new EV-Cub electric motorcycle; the new U3-X, a one-wheel personal mobility device with balance control technology developed through the ASIMO robot project; and LOOP, a portable communication tool that allows people and mobility devices to communicate.

Honda's motorcycle show this year is shared with four-wheelers, and it includes everything from larger-displacement sports bikes with enhanced riding pleasure to tiny commuter versions powered by electricity.

The all-new and highly anticipated VFR1200F V4-powered sports touring bike will make its international debut, emphasizing sophisticated technology and style while providing a pleasurable riding experience. The elegant CB1100 makes its international debut as well, exploring the possibilities of the air-cooled 4-cylinder engine while building on the aesthetic appeal and riding experience of previous CB models. The PCX, an idle-stop function-equipped global scooter that delivers great fuel economy, and the EVE-neo, which achieves clean and tough performance that only an electric-powered scooter can provide, are advanced models that address environmental elements. There will also be a demonstration of the world's first Dual Clutch Transmission technology for larger-displacement and sportier bikes.
