The first deliveries of the new Ford Mustang Mach 1, offered to European customers, are now underway. The 2021 Mustang Mach 1 enhances the already powerful performance of the world's best-selling sports car with a special 5.0-litre V8 engine with 460 hp. The Mustang Mach 1 delivers 0-100 km / h in just 4.4 seconds and at the same time, the downforce is increased by 22% compared to the Mustang GT for increased handling and stability at high speeds.
The iconic Mustang with the unique 5.0-litre V8 with 460 hp has undergone many optimizations of, among other things, the driveline as well as aerodynamic optimizations for better performance and a distinctive design that pays homage to the original Mustang models. In addition, the car's cooling system has also undergone optimizations, so that the cooling capacity has been increased by 75% thanks to an extra air oil cooler that provides extra cooling.
The driving experience in the new Mustang Mach 1 is better than ever before. The iconic 5.0-litre V8 aluminium petrol engine has been modified to impress with high performance on both road and racetrack. The car also has the same Open Air intake system and 87 mm throttle as the Shelby Mustang GT350. The upgraded system works with the engine's recalibrated control module and with a combination of indirect low-pressure injection and direct high-pressure fuel injection. The maximum torque is 529 Nm at 4,600 rpm.
Customers can choose whether they want 6-speed manual transmission or 10-speed automatic transmission. Both gearboxes have a differential lock as standard. The 6-speed manual gearbox is a TREMEC 3160 with a double-plate clutch that can handle aggressive gear changes at high revs. Ford's advanced 10-speed automatic transmission is uniquely calibrated and comes with a new torque converter that optimizes both torque, gear shift and performance.
The suspension is specifically fine-tuned to the extreme requirements of the race track. The MagneRide 2 shock absorption technology has stiffer springs and extremely fast response to changing road conditions and surfaces. A unique liquid in the shock absorbers is electronically stimulated to give more or less resistance in the shock absorption depending on the surface and the selected setting.
The electric power steering (EPAS) is optimized, and the car has a new brake booster with faster response time, which in conjunction with the unique suspension makes the Mustang Mach 1's steering the most energetic in the entire Mustang family.
The new Ford Mustang Mach 1 has unique 19-inch five-spoke alloy wheels with sports tires from Michelin.
The cabin is ebony black with details in dark aluminium. The sporty leather seats have metal grey stitching. Features such as front heating and cooling, SYNC 3 infotainment, 12-speaker B&O audio system and built-in FordPass Connect modem are included as standard.
The new Ford Mustang Mach 1 sports car can already be ordered from Ford dealers at prices from 92,000 euros.
