New Volkswagen Tukan Pickup Debuts With Serious Work Hardware

Volkswagen revealed the 2027 Volkswagen Tukan pickup at Brazil's Barretos Rodeo Festival, placing a locally engineered truck between the aging Saveiro and larger Amarok. The company will launch it in Brazil during the first half of 2027 and developed it for other South American markets. VW has announced no US sales plan.

The Volkswagen Tukan uses MQB passenger-vehicle architecture but adds a stretched wheelbase, rigid rear axle, leaf springs, and two cab styles. This range targets fleets and families.

Consequently, the Tukan's core case combines payload with a compact footprint. The Fiat Strada leads the market, the Montana supplies a carlike double cab, and the Toro brings greater power and size. VW has released no MSRP.
