The first major novelty of the 2020 Audi Q5 range is the introduction of mild hybrid technology within its 2.0 TDI engine.
Thanks to MHEV technology, the engine evolves and will be available in 3 power versions: 136 HP with 320 Nm of torque, 163 HP with 380 Nm of torque and 204 HP with 400 Nm of torque.
The technology adopted is the same as that of the other mild hybrid units. Therefore, there is a belt-driven alternator-starter that allows you to optimize the start & stop function, active from 15 km / h. Furthermore, this technical solution allows the engine to switch off and on again at any speed. During the release phase, the recovered energy recharges a small lithium-ion battery that powers the starter.
Thanks to this system, the Audi Q5 with the mild-hybrid engine can be certified as a hybrid car. A unit that allows you to optimize performance and consumption.
As for performance, the Audi Q5 2.0 (40) TDI quattro S tronic 204 HP MHEV 12V goes from 0 to 100 km / h in 7.6 seconds and has a top speed of 222 km / h. As per the consumption: Audi claims 6.4-7.2 liters per hundred kilometers. On the emissions front, the manufacturer reports 168-169 grams of CO2 in the WLTP homologation cycle.
The Q5 2020 starts at 45,200 euros (30 TDI S tronic 136 HP) .
