A few weeks before the New York Motor Show, Hyundai unveils its new Sonata sedan in Korea. An eighth generation that serves again to demonstrate the evolution of the style of the brand.

The Hyundai Sonata made its revolution in 2010 with its sixth generation. The eighth generation comes with a new contoured line and with revised proportions: lower (-30 mm), wider (+25 mm), longer (+45 mm) - wheelbase +35 mm).

Hyundai can count on its important national market to renew again safely its large sedan. Unlike its Japanese rivals, the Korean does not play here the map of dynamism or a more expressive style, but remains on a comfortable sedan and statutory.

"Sonata celebrates innovative coupe-like silhouette," said Sang Yup Lee, senior vice president and head of the Hyundai Design Center. "A short overhang, sloping roofline and low deck lid create a balanced feel, and Hyundai's signature chrome accent now goes all the way into the hood, making it look even longer. It also has LED lighting built in. These cues bring the Sensuous Sportiness design to life."

The new Sonata's frontal sector is defined by two components: a strong, large shape evoking a soft sphere and a neatly demarcated hood. The all-new Hyundai Sonata has a spacious, layered deep hood, a very low posture and a smooth roofline. The feeling of width is also obtained with ultra-wide taillights.
