Volkswagen Touareg V8 TDI made its official debut at 2019 Geneva Auto Show.
What do we find under the hood? It's a 4.0-liter turbo diesel engine that produces no less than 421 horsepower and a torque of 664 pound-feet of torque. These figures make sure the SUV quite impressive and fast: 4.9 seconds from 0 to 100 km / h and the maximum speed of the car is electronically limited to 250 km / h.
The most important thing, however, is that the new V8 TDI engine that propels this new SUV guarantees that the car is compliant with the latest European emissions tests.
Even if Volkswagen claims it is "the most powerful diesel engine SUV produced by a German brand,"; it's not true: in some countries, you can still buy an Audi SQ7 TDI (equipped with the same engine on the Touareg V8 TDI) with 429 horsepower.
Customers who will order this new version of the German SUV will also have the option of two separate design packages. The first one is called Elegance, and it is more minimalist, with a simplified interior. The second, Atmosphere, comes with a warm and luxury interior.
Standard equipment of the new Touareg V8 TDI: 19-inch “Tirano” alloy wheels, stainless steel electrical pedals, LED headlight with LED daytime running lights, 4-corner air suspension, comfort seats, an anti-theft alarm, electrically operated boot lid, cruise control system including speed limiter.
