The new Dacia Duster is a great family SUV

Faithful to its DNA, the new Dacia Duster is a great family SUV, a road partner in daily traffic and outdoor adventures. Its design evolves, especially at the level of optical blocks and the grille, giving it an extra personality and at the same time ensuring a reduction of CO2 emissions.

The exterior of the new Duster took over the stylistic elements of the new visual identity presented for the first time on the new Logan, Sandero and Sandero Stepway. Thus, the optical blocks integrate the "Y" shaped daytime running lights. In turn, the grille is marked by 3D embossed chrome elements reminiscent of those on the Dacia Spring Electric, giving a more modern look and an extra personality.

The Eco-LED daytime running lights and rear optical blocks integrate the new Dacia light signature. Duster is the first Dacia model equipped with LED indicators. This technology is also used for the automatic dipped beam and the illumination of the license plate. Beyond the low electricity consumption, LED technology offers better lighting, both during the day and at night.

According to the manufacturer, the evolution of the exterior style was accompanied by an improvement in the aerodynamic coefficient of the vehicle. The profile of the new aileron placed in the upper part of the rear sight as well as that of the new 16-inch and 17-inch alloy wheels was studied in special simulators. The new Duster benefits from an aerodynamic profile have led to a reduction of up to 5.8 g of CO2 emissions in the case of the 4WD versions. As the reduction in CO2 emissions is accompanied by a reduction in fuel consumption, the improvement in the aerodynamic coefficient of the new Duster translates into a double benefit for customers.

The new Dacia Duster has 100% new upholstery. Both the shape of the new headrests and the materials used to ensure superior ergonomics and better support. Their profile also ensures better visibility for all occupants.

The great novelty is the appearance of a raised centre console equipped with an armrest that can slide over a distance of 70 mm and which integrates a closed storage space (1.1 litres) and two accessible USB sockets.

Depending on the version, the Duster facelift has an automatic air conditioning system with a digital display, cruise control with a steering wheel button, heated front seats.

In addition to Dacia Plug & Music audio equipment (radio, MP3, USB and Bluetooth), two new intuitive multimedia systems are available: Media Display and Media Nav on an 8-inch screen. The Media Display device includes six speakers, a DAB radio, Bluetooth connectivity and two USB sockets. The intuitive interface is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone systems. Dedicated controls on the steering wheel enable voice recognition. 

Available on the Dacia Duster, the 4WD Monitor system provides a whole series of useful information on the central screen such as assessing the degree of lateral inclination of the vehicle, compass and altimeter. The new Duster is equipped as standard with Green tires that offer a 10% improvement in rolling resistance. The new tires ensure increased grip, so it is not necessary to replace them in winter.

The range of engines has also been renewed. The 2021 Dacia Duster is now available in the version equipped with the six-speed EDC automatic transmission, coupled with the TCe 150 engine. The ECO-G 100 version has an LPG tank whose capacity has been increased by almost 50% to 49, 8 litres. From a mechanical point of view, the novelty is the presence of the six-speed EDC automatic gearbox, available on the most powerful version of the new Duster, the one equipped with the TCe 150 engine. The EDC gearbox offers the comfort of an automatic transmission while maintaining a level of fuel consumption and CO2 emissions close to that of a manual gearbox.

The 2021 Dacia Duster has a full range of engines, adapted to any type of use and which meet the Euro 6D Full standard. The newness is the dCi 115 diesel engine, available in 4 × 2 or 4 × 4 variants, with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Dacia also offers petrol-powered variants: TCe 90 in 4 × 2 versions with 6-speed manual gearbox, TCe 130 in 2WD versions with 6-speed manual gearbox, TCe 150 in 4WD versions with 6-speed manual gearbox and TCe 150 in 2WD versions with 6-speed EDC automatic gearbox.

The new Dacia Duster 2WD models also include the ECO-G 100 (mixed petrol-LPG supply) with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The new Dacia Duster SUV will be marketed from September 2021 in 2WD and 4WD versions. No info has been given yet about the prices of the new Dacia Duster SUV, but it is expected that they will exceed those of the current version.
