Ford's next-generation Ranger Raptor extreme pickup has begun shipping to European customers. Now that our first European clients have received their brand-new Ranger Raptor, we can officially call this the beginning of the rollout of our entire new Ranger family. The next version of what has been Europe's best-selling pickup for the previous seven years has garnered a lot of attention.
Among the new Ranger's many iterations, the new Ford Ranger Raptor pickup truck is the first to make its way to Europe. The new Ford Ranger SVT Raptor is the most extreme trim level yet created by Ford Performance. More innovative technology that controls the pickup's parts makes it a powerful pickup that is excellent off-road but still comfortable on the road.
Ford Performance has changed the 3-liter V6 EcoBoost gasoline engine to make 292 hp and 491 Nm of torque. This engine is new for the Ford Ranger Raptor.
The new 3.0L V6 EcoBoost engine is twin-turbocharged and features a compact cylinder block made of graphite iron. Compared to cast iron, which is often used for this purpose, this can increase the motor's strength by as much as 75%.
Ford Performance has also made sure the engine responds instantly to the accelerator. New anti-lag technology is utilized to keep the engine revving for up to three seconds after the driver has taken their foot off the pedal. This system was previously seen in the Ford GT and Focus ST. The engine will respond more quickly when you press the gas pedal again after exiting a turn or switching gears. Each of the 10 ratios in the automatic transmission's state-of-the-art 10-speed gearbox has its turbocharging profile, making the engine's already impressive performance even better.
The Ford Ranger Raptor has an active exhaust system controlled by electronics. This gives it a sound that matches its outstanding performance.
The 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor has a manufacturer's suggested retail price of 86,575 euros and is powered by a 3.0 liter V6 EcoBoost twin-turbo engine. The Ford Ranger Raptor will offer a 2-liter turbodiesel engine option starting in the first half of 2023. The earliest projected delivery date is the summer of 2023.
The chassis of the Next-Gen Ford Ranger Raptor is different from that of the current Ford Ranger. The next-generation Ranger Raptor is built to withstand the most extreme off-road situations thanks to various Raptor-specific mounts and reinforcements, including the C-pillar, cargo box, spare wheel, and unique frames for bumpers, shock absorber towers, and the like. Ford's engineers have also changed the Ranger Raptor's wheel suspension, so it can be driven at high speeds over rough terrain.
The Ranger Raptor's sturdy undercarriage is designed to withstand harsh environments. The front protection plate is made of 2.3 mm thick, high-strength steel and is almost twice as large as the next-generation Ford Ranger. With engine and drivetrain protection, this plate was made to keep essential parts from getting damaged on rough roads.
Next-gen Ranger Raptors include the off-road cruise control system. When the driver selects a speed of 32 km/h or less, the vehicle takes over accelerating and braking, allowing the driver to concentrate on controlling the vehicle's path over rugged terrain.
The exterior of the Ranger Raptor has been redesigned from the ground up to complement its extraordinary capabilities, expanding on the Ranger's newfound boldness and toughness. The fender flares and the shape of the headlights draw attention to the pickup's width, while the Ford grille and the intense bumper give the car a muscular look.
In addition to the standard Black, White, and Blue, customers can select one of seven exterior colors, including the Raptor-exclusive Code Orange and Conquer Grey. For those who want to show off their Ford Ranger Raptor, the extreme truck has decals that give it a more racing-inspired appearance.
The new Ford Ranger Raptor has superior lighting thanks to its matrix LED headlights. Predictive cornering lights, high beams that don't cause glare, and automatic level management all help to make the lighting better all around.
Raptor-specific all-terrain tires are included with the bare 17-inch aluminum wheels. Cast-aluminum side steps and working valves help give the Performance pickup a rugged appearance while improving its practicality. The rear LED taillights have the same shape as the front ones, and the Precision Gray bumper, which has a step and a hanger, is mounted high so that it doesn't affect the extreme pickup's departure angle on rough terrain.
The new Raptor Ranger's interior has high-performance sports seats designed to mimic those found in fighter jets. The mood lighting in the Ranger Raptor makes the orange accents pop, particularly on the seams, seats, and instrument panels. A heated Premium sports leather steering wheel with magnesium-cast steering gear completes the sporty interior.
