Jeep will launch the Gladiator pick-up on the European market early next year. The announcement came from Jeff Hines, the head of Jeep in the EMEA region.

Presented and launched initially in the US market, the Jeep Gladiator is actually a pick-up version of Wrangler. The engines available on the US market are a 3.6-liter V6 that develops 290 hp and a 3.0-liter diesel that develops around 260 hp and 600 Nm.

The Jeep has not said whether the two engines will be borrowed in Europe and whether Gladiator will benefit from the 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol that Wrangler already has on offer.

"Unquestionably a truck and instantly recognizable as a Jeep, the all-new 2020 Gladiator is the ultimate vehicle for any outdoor adventure," said Tim Kuniskis, Head of Jeep Brand. "There is tremendous demand for this unique vehicle from our loyal Jeep customers and pickup truck buyers everywhere. Born from a rich and proud heritage of tough, dependable Jeep trucks, Gladiator combines rugged utility, versatility, and functionality resulting in the most capable midsize truck ever."
