Jeep is expanding its lineup of electric vehicles in response to the demand for its already legendary off-road prowess, led by the best-selling plug-in hybrid vehicle, the Jeep Wrangler 4xe, and the new Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe.
Jim Morrison, who is in charge of the Jeep brand in North America, said, "As we continue to add 4x4 technology to all of our products, we are redefining freedom and adventure in a way that only the Jeep brand can." "By the end of 2025, all of our products will be powered by electricity, including four fully electric cars competing at the top of the market."
This plan to add electric power will also help the Jeep Wagoneer line grow. The brand will offer a brand-new, all-electric Jeep Wagoneer in the premium mid-size SUV segment. In the large SUV segment, the Wagoneer models will have powertrains that give them a combined range of 800 kilometers.
By 2030, Jeep will have more SUV models, a larger share of the SUV market, and more overall sales than any other brand because of its extensive lineup of new battery electric vehicles (BEVs).
The Jeep Recon is one of North America's first all-new electric SUVs. It is made for people who want to go on extreme adventures in a challenging, all-electric vehicle that doesn't make much noise.
The Jeep Recon was created from the ground up to be a 4x4 electric vehicle. So, it is only available as a BEV, and it will make off-road adventures much better.
Meunier said, "The new Jeep Recon electric SUV can drive the tough Rubicon Trail, one of the most difficult off-road routes in the United States, and still have enough range at the end of the route to drive back to town and charge."
The public will see this SUV on the world market next year, and production will begin in North America in 2024. Beginning in early 2023, people in the US can put down a deposit on the new Jeep Recon BEV. Europe will be one of the significant markets for selling Jeep Recon.
A brand-new SUV is also being added to the Wagoneer family. The all-electric vehicle, which has the code name Jeep Wagoneer S, will increase Jeep's presence in the premium SUV market. It will have a unique, sleek, aerodynamic design and come standard with 4x4 and all-terrain management. It will also have more advanced, Jeep-branded technology and impressive performance data. It will only be available as a BEV, and its goal is to have a range of 650 km on a single charge, a power output of 441 kW (600 hp), and acceleration from 0 to 96 km/h in about 3.5 seconds.
Aerodynamic efficiency and the upright, iconic side view make the Wagoneer's exterior design stand out, along with the grille's LED lights.
"We will make our customers happy with a premium SUV that is both fuel-efficient and well-made. It will have 4x4, high performance, quick acceleration, and a range of 650 kilometers," said Meunier.
The public will also see the new Jeep Wagoneer BEV next year, and production will start in North America in 2024. Early in 2023, people in the US will be able to reserve this Wagoneer model that runs on electricity only. The Wagoneer will be sold in Europe and other large markets worldwide.
In Europe, the Jeep brand has already made a significant change. Countries like Germany and France only sell SUVs that run on electricity. By the end of this year, almost every European market will have all Jeep SUV models running on electricity.
"Today's plan builds on this 4xe trend by making a lineup of capable, all-electric vehicles that are made for Europe and fit its needs". By 2025, the brand will have four cars in Europe's most important volume segments that don't put out any pollution at all. Because of this product offensive, by 2030, all new Jeeps sold in Europe will have electric drives.
The new, all-electric Jeep Avenger is the first model in this lineup. As part of Stellanti's long-term strategic plan, Dare Forward, the small SUV was shown off earlier this year.
The Jeep Avenger will be sold below the Jeep Renegade in Europe and other places like Japan and South Korea. The Jeep Avenger electric SUV will be made at the Stellantis plant in Tychy, Poland.
With an expected electric range of 400 kilometers, this new SUV will have excellent ground clearance, departure, and ramp angles for its class, as well as a modern, high-tech, and spacious interior.
Antonella Bruno, head of Jeep Europe for Stellantis, said, "The new Jeep Avenger will offer the capabilities of the Jeep brand in a way that works for the European market." "This modern, fun, and emotional SUV will appeal to a growing number of customers looking to the Jeep brand for a capable, compact, modern, and all-electric alternative to current providers."
On October 17, the Jeep Avenger will be shown to the press for the first time at the Paris Motor Show. Customers will be able to make reservations for the car on the same day. The Jeep Avenger electric SUV is set to hit the market in early 2023.
The Jeep brand is expanding its 4xe lineup around the world. This means that its legendary 4x4 capabilities are getting even better thanks to electric power. Details of the current plan are primarily about North America and Europe. Plans for other parts of the world will be made public later.
Meunier said, "We showed a small part of our new lineup of all-electric SUVs. This is proof of what's to come over the next 24 months and why we say 4xe is the new 4x4." "This powerful combination of Jeep design, legendary 4x4 capability, and electrification will change the SUV market and allow more customers in more countries and segments to join us on our journey to Zero Emission Freedom." @via Jeep.
