Meet the next premium crossover SUV on the arena of the automotive world. The German brand presented a completely new model - Mercedes-Benz GLB. The new model is located between GLA and GLC.
The new model of 4.634 / 1.834 / 1.658 millimeters (length / width / height) has the hallmarks of the brand's current generation of compact SUVs, such as the powerful four-cylinder engines, the most current driving assistance systems, which offer cooperative assistance to the driver, the intuitive MBUX operating infotainment system. The basic version will be equipped with a 1.3-liter gasoline engine with 163 horsepower. Also in the line, it is assumed a more powerful 2-liter gasoline engine, which produces more than 220hp.
All motors, except for the base, will be offered with an 8-step "automatic" gearbox. Moreover, diesel engines can be combined with a proprietary 4Matic all-wheel-drive system.
Mercedes GLB can be equipped with a third row of seats. Although in general the car still belongs to the family of compact crossovers.
The GLB is built on the same platform with such cars as the Mercedes A-Class hatchback and the compact GLA crossover.
It is possible to vary the volume of the trunk, between 560 and 1,755 liters (data for the model with five seats). Therefore, it reaches the dimensions of a classic Estate model.
It is no secret that next year a hybrid version of the crossover will be released, which will be able to drive about 50 kilometers exclusively on electric power. In fact, the hybrid GLB will become the base version of the Mercedes EQC electric car - one of the best electric cars in terms of autonomy.
