Many people, especially those who frequently haul heavy loads, choose the Mercedes-Benz GLE because of its 3,500-kilogram maximum trailer weight. These users will like the many improvements included in the latest release. Two more bolts on the electric towbar increase its weight capacity to 100 kilograms, and the ball weight has been increased to 140 kilograms.

New to this version of the navigation system are trailer-oriented features. Two distinct types of trailers and a bicycle/load carrier can have their dimensions set, and as soon as a trailer contact is made, the driver must specify what is on the hook. The navigation system adjusts the route planning to account for the trailer's size and the maximum speed limit. In addition, the maximum speed limit for the present combination is the only one displayed by the automated road signs.

The camera-based trailer helper, which previously only worked at speeds of up to 5 km/h, greatly simplifies reversing with a trailer. It may be used to make turns of up to ninety degrees in reverse, and it also maintains a straight track automatically. The trailer helper is an add-on that may be bought, unlocked digitally, and then downloaded "Over The Air" to a vehicle.

The Mercedes-Benz GLE also excels in off-road conditions, allowing you to drive through mud and snow easily. The driver also receives a "transparent hood" in off-road mode. As a result, drivers can see what's beneath their vehicles on their dashboard screens and easily steer clear of hazards they would have otherwise missed. In off-road mode, the plug-in hybrid model also shifts to 100% electric operation.

The Mercedes-Benz GLE is offered in two distinct body styles: SUV and coupe. The new Mercedes-Benz GLE is always electrified, as are an increasing number of Mercedes-Benz vehicles. All models with internal combustion engines for running under electric power alone feature a 48-volt electrical system with an integrated starter motor/generator.

The Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV and Coupé can be used in various diesel, gasoline, and diesel-powered plug-in hybrid configurations. The latter, known as the Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 de 4MATIC, can travel up to 109 kilometers on electricity alone and can be charged with 11 kW AC or 60 kW DC (optional). Depending on the driving conditions, the combined fuel and electricity consumption is between 0.6 and 0.9 l/100 km (WLTP) (WLTP). The system generates 333 hp (280 kilowatts) of power and a peak torque of 750 Nm. By selecting Hybrid as the mode of operation, the vehicle will run solely on electric power when traveling on optimal routes.
