The first two-door coupe from KIA

Kia Motors America presented at the Chicago Auto Show a new car called Kia Forte Koup, this being the first model of the coupe from KIA. The design of this coupe was inspired from his predecessor, KOUP concept being already presented in 2008 at NYIAS.

KIA will launch two versions of the coupe, EX and SX, their difference between them being the type of motor. EX model will have a 2.0 l engine which develops 156 HP (115 kw) and 144 pound-feet engine with continuously Variable Valve Timing. Regarding the gear box, you can choose between manual or the 5 steps as automatic 4 gears, both are equally effective. The SX will be slightly more powerful 2.4 l engine developing 173 HP (127 kw) at an engine torque of 228 Nm. Unlike the EX model, it will have only one variant gearbox, with manual 6 gears. Fuel consumption is 22mpg range around town and 32mpg on the highway.

Led to a safe sport but Kia Forte Koup will be equipped with a sport suspension system, ABS brakes, electronic stability control and more than four airbags. With some smaller than the sedan, one of Wheelbase 2649 mm to a total length of 4480 mm, width 1765 mm height 1340 mm, the dynamic performance of the car will be increased, that comfort without affecting the 5 passengers.

Outside both models will be equipped with alloy wheels of 16 inches and the hatch for sunny days of summer. The exterior design is a sport with an air of aggression due to scale and the front headlights. The vehicle will be equipped with all the technologies and audio communication, Bluetooth connectivity, USB and iPod auxiliary inputs, a standard six-speaker AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio system and steering-wheel mounted audio controls. SIRIUS Satellite Radio capabilities are part of the music player and come with a free three-month subscription to the service.
